Seacoast Type LSMMOP 5 Conductors 300 Volts Cable Non-Watertight Flexing Service MIL-C-24643/8
Seacoast Type LSMMOP cable has 5 conductors, made of bare stranded copper conductors that are individually insulated with the cross linked polyethylene insulation or an Ethylene Propylene Rubber (EPR), which is in accordance to the Standard Identification Code of Method 3. These five conductors are cabled around the central tie cord forming the core. It has fillers and wrapped in a polyester tape. Braided insulation shield is applied round the core and jacketed with a cross linked polyolefin layer.
Features
Copper conductors offers a great performance because they have good electrical conductivity, good thermal conductivity andcreep resistance. EPR and cross linked polyethylene insulation also improves the electrical conductivity of this cable by protecting the conductors from damages caused by the marine punishing environmental conditions which would otherwise affect the electrical conductivity. Insulation keeps the user from electric shocks.
Binding tape is used in wrapping this cable. The tape limits overlapping of the conductors by holding them firmly in position to ensure smooth power transmission. Shielding braid ensures that there is smooth signal transmission from the cable and reduces the emission of electromagnetic radiation. Tough polyolefin jacket offers an additional protection to the cable from harsh marine environmental conditions.
