Service Wire Bronze-Tin Contact Wire for Electrified Rail Systems
This is a single conductor cable with the conductor size Awg ranging between 2 to 336.4 MCM. It has been constructed with solid tin which is known to be very soft. This feature enables the service wire bronze- tin contact wire to easily bend and cut according to the needs of the user. The areas where this wire is likely to be used involves a lot of bending and cutting. This cable is used because of its high flexibility and its ability to be stretched and molded in different ways. Tin is resistant to corrosion and is also fairly priced. This wire has a hard drawn temper and made in the configuration of grooved.
The service wire bronze- tin contact wire is often used in underground mining cars, electric railroad locomotives, cranes and in overhead catenary system as power for light rail systems. The wire is safe for use as it has been made in line with the international standards regarding electrical wires. It complies with the ASTM B- 9.
