Dyke 2-2-2-4 Underground Secondary Distribution Cable is a specialized form of quadruplex cable which has up to four conductors. Three of the phase conductors are live wires while the other is a neutral conductor. This cable can transmit current of up to 155 amps at temperatures of 90°C. If it is installed in ducts it can only transmit 115 amps of current. It is used for underground secondary distribution systems as long as the voltage rating does not exceed 600 volts in wet and dry areas.
Applications:
• 2-2-2-4 Aluminum wire direct burial cable has a wide variety of outdoor applications. It may be used anywhere that 600 volt secondary energy distribution is needed, including being directly buried underground. It’s also often installed in ducts and in areas where installation may be problematic.
• Directly buried or installed in ducts for 600V secondary distribution.
Conductors:
The conductors are made of aluminum alloy 1350-H19. The conductors are each stranded for flexibility.
Insulation:
It is made of cross-linked polyethylene. It can withstand high temperatures of 90°C.
