Product Details
This is a soft annealed tinned copper cable used in demanding marine applications. The signal and instrumental cable consists of shielded strands that are flexible to allow for easy installations. To ensure that cable has adequate thermal performance, the copper wire has been coated using tin. Tin coating ensure that the cable is resistant to oxidation at high temperature. It reduces the ability to corrode and ensures that soldering is done easily. The armored sheathed cable is designed for use in applications where temperatures may be as high as 100 degrees Celsius and where voltage is up to 1000 volts. The instrumentation cable has shielded triads that have a tape of aluminum foil with polyester backing thus offering 100% coverage.
Applications
• For use in demanding environments of offshore drilling and petroleum facilities
• This instrumentation cable is meant for installation and use within marine environments including marine vessels, floating offshore facilities, fixed offshore facilities, onshore facilities, off shore drilling rigs, and other marine applications. It may be used to wire gas and fire detection apparatus, CO2 systems, tank level indicators, and smoke detection units.
Insulation
• Cross-linked Polyolefin
• The cable is insulated with cross linked polyolefin material that is flame retardant. Cross-linked polyolefin also referred to as XLPO provides resistance to fire, chemicals, and UV light. It is durable and releases no toxic emissions after exposure to flame and fire because it is halogen free.
Jacket, armor, and sheathing
• Jacket – Black, arctic grade PVC
• This cable is jacketed with arctic grade PVC material for enhanced protection of the primary insulation. Arctic grade PVC is resistant to abrasion, oil, flame, sunlight, and chemical. Besides, the cable has a bronze basket weave wire armor for protection from environmental and mechanical damage. A sheathing material of arctic grade PVC is also applied on the strands to ensure optimal protection against the harsh marine conditions.
Features
• High strand count conductors make this product extremely flexible, easier to install and more resistant to vibration than Type MC, IEC spec or commercial cables.
• Lower dielectric constant and higher insulation resistance reduces electrical losses.
• Excellent resistance to moisture produces stable electrical properties throughout the life of the cable.
• In fire conditions, non-chlorinated flame retardant system produces less toxic and less corrosive gasses.
• Dual certified IEEE 1580 Type P and UL 1309/CSA C22.2 No. 245 Type X110.
• Highest ampacity ratings: ABS 100°C, DNV 95°C, LRS 95°C, Transport Canada 95°C
• Severe cold durability: exceeds CSA cold bend/cold impact (-40/-35° C)
• Flame retardant: IEC 60332-3 Category A and IEEE 1202
• Suitable for use in Class I, Division 1 and Zone 1 environments.
• Braided armor of bronze. Tinned Copper available by request.
