Product Description:
• 14/2 UF Underground Feeder cable comes as a two-conductor cable that includes a ground wire. Conductors are type THHN/THWN-2; insulated conductors that can handle high heat and excessive moisture. Conductors are available in compressed stranding or solid copper. The phase conductors in this cable are color coded for identification. The entire construction is jacketed with a lead-free, sunlight, moisture, and fungus resistant PVC armor.
Applications:
• UF-B is suitable for underground distribution, including direct burial. This cable is commonly used to carry power from a distribution point in a building to an outside post such as an outdoor lamp or pump. The cable can also be used for branch circuit wiring for the interior of a residential or agricultural building. The cable can withstand temperatures up to 90°C and can handle an ampacity of up to 600v.
Specifications:
• In accordance with specifications set forth by Underwriters Laboratories, a compliance and regulations organization established over 100 years ago, this conductor meets UL standard 83, requiring the conductor to be in compliance with National Electric Code and ANSI/NFPA 70 for save electrical design and installation.
• This cable aligns with UL Standard 493, a standard that required underground and branch feeder cables to be able to withstand predetermined temperatures and is properly insulated to protect against wet and dry conditions.
• This product adheres to Federal Specification A-A-59544, deeming the product safe for installation in commercial and industrial buildings.
Construction:
• Conductors: This cable is made with soft annealed copper conductors. The copper conductors provide optimal conductivity and stability over time.
• Stranding: The copper conductors are available in compressed stranded or solid copper design. The compressed stranded design is more suitable for tasks where flexibility is needed. The solid copper wire is more cost effective and is preferred in corrosive outdoor environments because there is less surface area exposed.
• Insulation: Each phase conductor is insulated with a lead-free, dryness and moisture-resistant pvc jacket. The individual conductors are then jacketed by a gray PVC armor that is also lead-free and dryness and moisture-resistant, and further protects against fungus and UV rays.
