Product Details
A multi-conductor control cable made of soft annealed tinned copper strands. The cable is meant for use in high temperature, high voltage applications and environments like in marine environments. It tin coating allows to have good thermal performance and resistance to corrosion. Tin coating on the cable also makes it to be soldered easily. It is flexible due to its high strand count.
Applications
• Designed and constructed for the demanding environments of offshore drilling and petroleum facilities
• It is used in offshore drilling and petroleum facilities where the environments are harsh. It may be used to wire things like gas detection equipment, fire detectors, driller’s console, ballast controls, indicator systems, and electronic apparatus used in marine drilling environments.
Insulation
• Flame retardant cross-linked polyolefin
• This cable is insulated with cross-linked polyolefin material treat with a flame-retardant substance. Cross-linked polyolefin also resists chemicals, fire, and UV light. It does not release toxic gases when it is exposed to heat or flame meaning that it’s halogen free.
Jacketing
• Black, arctic grade PVC
• The cable has a jacket made of black, arctic grade PVC to offer more protection to the insulation. This material resists elements like oil, flame, sunlight, and chemical.
Armor and sheath : It is also abrasion resistant. A basket weave wire armor made of bronze is used on the cable. In addition, it has a sheath made of black, arctic grade PVC.
Characteristics
• High strand count conductors make this product extremely flexible, easier to install and more resistant to vibration than Type MC, IEC spec or commercial cables.
• Lower dielectric constant and higher insulation resistance reduces electrical losses.
• Excellent resistance to moisture produces stable electrical properties throughout the life of the cable.
• In fire conditions, non-chlorinated flame retardant system produces less toxic and less corrosive gasses.
• Dual certified IEEE 1580 Type P and UL 1309/CSA C22.2 No. 24 Type X110.
• Highest ampacity ratings: ABS 100°C, DNV 95°C, LRS 95°C, Transport Canada 95°C
• Severe cold durability: exceeds CSA cold bend/cold impact (-40/-35° C)
• Flame retardant: IEC 60332-3 Category A and IEEE 1202
• Suitable for use in Class I, Division 1 and Zone 1 environments.
• Braided armor of bronze. Tinned Copper available by request
