Its annealed copper conductors are also covered with a separating tape and then insulated with a chemically cross linked polyolefin layer for protection, as per IEEE 1580 requirements. This cable is jacketed with the thermosetting flame retardant chlorinated polyethylene approved by IEEE 1580-2010. The jacketing can also be made of arctic neoprene.

Features

Conductors
This cable is made of copper wires that are annealed to become flexible. Copper has a good thermal conductivity and tensile strength improving the good electrical conductive attributes of this cable. The soft multi copper conductors are in accordance to ASTM B 33 specifications.

Insulation
The cross linked polyolefin insulation ensures that the user and the cable are safe. XLPO protects the user from electrocution. It creates a permanent boundary between the conductors and the grounding wires ensuring that they don’t get into any contacts that would cause electric faults, improving the electrical conductivity. Cross linked polyolefin insulation of this cable improves its service life by protecting it from deformations and corrosive chemicals.

Jacket
Flame retardant chlorinated polyethylene thermosetting layer keeps the cable safe from the punishing marine environmental conditions. This is the outer covering coat that provides a superb protection to the cable against crushing, creeping, cuttings and abrasions. It is moisture resistant, hence ensuring that the cable is dry and free from moisture.

Type P Marine cable is primarily designed for offshore and onshore installation applications in marine vessels, as a power control and instrumentation cable to serve voltages not exceeding 600 volts.
